Hi there! My name is Sophie Overett and I am a twenty-fouryear old writer based in Brisbane, Australia. I am also a: daughter, a sister, a middle child, a virgo, a story-consuming black hole, an INFJ, a friend, a coffee-drinker, a wine-drinker, an art-appreciator, a mum to two kitties and occasionally an allergy prone ball of hives.

I tend towards writing about broken people doing broken people things, frequently set in Brisbane, because I’m a sucker for the curve of the river and the hum of the highway, of blisteringly hot summers and the Jack Frost winds of winter. Sometimes though I write about other things, like space and aliens and mythical creatures and sometimes I just write about me. I have a horrible tendency towards writing about siblings and families, of which I have plenty of both.

I’ve been published in Voiceworks, Regime, Seizure, Sleepers Almanac No. 9 and Scum Mag. 

I am also the Digital Content Producer at Queensland Writers Centre.
